Scott Hemond is a Major League Baseball Veteran who operates a baseball school in Destin, Florida since 2005.  He trains students from little league to professional.

Hemo's deep understanding of baseball mechanics combined with his unique teaching ability & revolutionary baseball training programs, lend to the best instruction available for baseball and softball players.

Scott Hemond was drafted out of high school in the 5th round by the Kansas City Royals.
Scott elected to continue his baseball career at the University of South Florida.

 

College Career Highlights

  • Inducted into the Cape Cod League Hall of fame in 2007.
  • His number "11" retired at University of South Florida & Dunedin High School.
  • Only 2 time All-American in USF history.
  • Played on Highest Ranked Baseball Teams in USF history.
  • 1986 Golden Spikes Finalist - (Equivalent to the Heisman).
  • 3 time 1st Team All Sun Belt Conference
  • 1986 Male Athlete of the Year
  • 1985 USA Team
  • 1986 Cape Cod League MVP + Batting Champion

Scott Hemond - MLB Career

Major League Baseball

Scott Hemond was selected in the 1st Round,12th Pick overall by the Oakland A‘s in 1986.

This made him the highest draft pick in University of South Florida Baseball history.

Scott played 7 seasons in the Major League with Oakland A’s, Chicago White Sox, and St. Louis Cardinals where he played every position at the major league level except pitcher.

Hemo was a member of the Oakland A's 1989 World Series Team and 1990 American League Championship

Hemo holds the long time Athletics record "Single Season Stolen Bases Record for a Catcher".

Owner/Instructor, Scott Hemond, is a Major League Baseball Veteran who operates Scott Hemond Baseball in Destin, Florida. (Founded in 2005)

Rafael Bustamante

Venezuelan native, Rafael  Bustamante, played infield professionally from 1987- 1994.  Organizations that he played with include the Phillies, Cincinnati, and the Aragua Tigers in Venezuela.  

From 1994 to 2001 Rafael was a hitting coach for the Aragua Tigers.  

He also scouted for the Tampa Bay Rays from 1996 to 1999.

Leonardo Rivas

Maracay, Venezuela native, Leonardo Rivas, has been playing baseball most of his life.

Leo signed with the Anaheim Angels organization in 2015 at the young age of 16 as an infielder.  The Angels have used him as an infielder/utility player as well as a switch hitter!

In 2020 Leo was traded to the Cincinnati Reds organization where he continues his career as a AA/AAA player.
